The TAS Hoskins Centre

Built largely thanks to the generous donation of Old Boy Michael Hoskins after whom it is named, the Michael Hoskins Creative Arts Centre opened in 2009, providing both TAS and Armidale with a purpose-built teaching and performance venues in which the creative spirit is nurtured, expressed and showcased.

The TAS Hoskins Centre, as it is more widely known, consists of a modern theatre, visual art studios, rehearsal rooms, exhibition space and a large, light-filled foyer. The TAS Hoskins Centre offers a varied annual public arts program of theatre, music and visual arts alongside its innovative educational programs. The annual season has included professional productions from leading Australian companies such as the Sydney Theatre Company, Critical Stages and Zeal Theatre Co.

The TAS Hoskins Centre also provides a performing arts hub for the region’s local creative community such as the Armidale Drama & Musical Society (ADMS), Veracity Theatre Company (VTC), Felt Tip Theatre Company, High Country Theatre Company (HCTC), Opera New England (ONE), and the Armidale branch of the Association of Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (ADFAS).

With its stylish, convenient facilities and welcoming atmosphere, the TAS Hoskins Centre is also regularly hired for conferences, functions, workshops and arts exhibitions.
